GT820IP

So I am working on adding a new Sony Xplod CDX-GT820IP head unit to my 1998 Dodge Durango, and it has the stock premium Infinity sound system in it. I took out the old cd player, using a scorche wiring harness to connect in the new one, and finished wiring it together. Once I was done the head unit would turn on and look great but no sound will come from it. What is the problem? Brendan.mk2gli's answer was the closest, although the Infinity system in your Dodge is much different from the one in his Mitsubishi. You need to activate the vehicle's factory amplifiers. To do this, you need to make sure that the blue/white wire from your head unit is connected to the blue wire in the Scosche adapter harness. If you still don't get sound, check your vehicle's fuses; it's possible that there's a blown fuse for the sound system. Otherwise there may be something deeper causing the problem. However, the blue/white to blue connection is the first thing to check. Nick N, there are no after-market CD players that require an antenna connection to switch on. If this is happening, it means that the deck's ground wire is not connected properly.
