How to connect PS3 to HDTV?

I have a Panasonic cinemavision HDTV model number PT47WX51C, and a Playstation 3. I'm not sure where to connect the cables from the PS3 to the tv, i tried connecting it on the usual yellow, white and red thingys but when I press tv/video on the remote, I cant find which channel to see it.

Use a HDMI cable if you want the picture in the HD format, if you connect the composite cables red, yellow, white (video, left audio, right audio) then the picture will still be great but will be in the Analogue format.

Are you connecting the plugs in the side, the back? If you have connected them correctly then there should be a button on your remote, usually called input, av, aux or a square with an arrow in it.

Depending on where and how many inputs your tv has will depend on the av channel you use. My tv hs two hdmi inputs and two composite inputs. So my Wii is on av2, my cable box is on av1, my dvd player is on hdmi 1.
