A lot of people can't seem to comprehend the meaning of copyright.
It basically means "What's mine is mine, and what's yours is yours".
As such, "EVERY SINGLE SONG IN THE WORLD" is copyrighted
and belongs to either the composer, the artist, the record company,
and/or whoever owns its publishing rights. There's no such thing as
non-copyrighted music, because the very moment that it is created,
it automatically is "copyright".
Have you ever heard the music of Linkin Park, Led Zeppelin, Prince
or Red Hot Chilli Peppers used in a commercial or television show?
If they will not allow companies like Nike, Honda, Coke or Apple (or
shows like CSI or Grey's Anatomy) to use their music for big bucks,
they will definitely not let "amateur" YouTubers "defame" their song
for what often are cheesy low-quality videos.
However, there's "AudioSwap" -- for which YouTube has paid all the
required fees -- allowing people to do whatever they wish with those
songs. You are "good to go" with anything from the following artists:
-- Evanescence (including songs like "Bring Me to Life")

-- Finger Eleven (including songs like "Paralyzer")

-- Drowning Pool (including songs like Let The Bodies Hit the Floor)
-- Creed (including songs like "With Arms Open Wide")

-- and a whole lot more.
