I'm putting together a tank for my goldfish and think I have all the parts- we have a 30 gallon downstairs so.....
10 gal tank
Glass hood
Light Strip
Light Bulb
10 Gal Filter (comes with all the stuff, we have replacements downstairs)
We already have air pump, air stones, and tubes. ....
We have all the food, conditioners, medicine, algae stuff, plants, gravel, salt, carbon, ph checkers and all the rest of that fun stuff....is that all for physically building the tank?
Thanks!!
Do goldfish need heaters? My guy hasn't had one, and he's two....Should I get one?
Oh, I can't really drop the goldfish thing, I already have one.
You'll need a larger tank, 20-gallons minimum for a single Fancy Goldfish, an extra 10-gallons per additional Fancy. You'll need filtration rated for at least twice your tank's volume, as Goldfish are very messy fish.
If it's Common/Feeder type Goldfish you want, you're looking at a minimum of 55-gallons for one, 20 more per additional.
Have a look at this site for fish that can be housed in your 10-gallon:
