Can you push 2x12 80 watt speakers with a 100 watt tube rectifier amp?

I own a B-52 AT-100 amp head. just wanting something more compact for a cab. can i pull this off or will it be too powerful for the speakers therefor causing a muddy sound?

Absolutely. I have a 150-watt Mesa/Boogie head - took out two power tubes to drop it to 100 - and run it almost exclusively through a 2x12 cabinet. Sounds great. I wouldn't worry about muddy sound - worst would be cranking it too loud and just plain blowing the speakers. I can't turn the Boogie up more than a third of the way without it being just too damn loud for the stage... YMMV...
