Motorcycle leaking gas?!?

My 1998 Kawasaki Vulcan classic 800cc is leaking gas out of the bottom of my bike. I'm an inexperienced rider, so I have no idea why this is happening. The tube the gas is coming out of is rubbery and black. I know that isn't much help, but I'm hoping somebody else has experienced this and will let me know what to do. Thank you!...Also, I have a service and repair manual, but I cannot find my problem in the book.

Most probable the a carburetor float bowl is overflowing - due to dirt in the float needle & seat preventing the fuel from entering the float bowl when it is full.
Pull the overflow tube off of the carburetor to see if gas is leaking out of the float bowl over flow - engine has to be running.
If it leaks - remove and clean the carburetor.
