Who sells a leather shift knob for an '06 Accord with 6-speed manual?
I've searched online retailers and forums and can't find a leather shift knob to fit my '06 Accord. Honda doesn't even sell one! I've found some that claim to be universal but none have the 6-speed shift pattern imprinted. I think there's a TSX model with more leather, but still too much metal. I imagine the one from the Acura 3.2CL S-Type would fit, but those are rare and don't have the shift pattern as part of the design.
As a last resort I could settle for a bare leather/vinyl shift knob with a sticker showing the correct shift pattern (for people who may have to drive the car in an emergency).
Honda, metal is about the stupidest human-machine interface possible when dealing with extreme temperatures. It is freezing cold in the winter and blistering hot in the summer. How about trying to be trendy and cool in areas that don't affect driveablity? Or, at the very least, use THIN metal so there's less heat transfer!
I drive a 2005 Honda Accord EX V6 coupe 6MT, and 100% AGREE that the metal shift nob is HORRIBLE!!! I live in Maine and during the winter I touch my shift knob as least often as possible because it is soooo friggin cold.
I wish I had a better answer for you, and for me as well lol. But here is a thought. Why do you need a shift patttern?? I am sure since you dirve the car you do not need it.. And in an emergency I'm pretty sure a reasonable person could figure it out quite easily. Even though it has an extra gear, it is still the same shift pattern that is standard in most if not all Honda's.
I really do not think that even in an emergency, whether or not you have the shift pattern shown on the knob or not would effect anything.
Sorry for not really answering your question, but I share your greif with the cold shifter LOL
P.S. if it is that big of a deal couldn't you draw the shift pattern on a peice of paper and keep it somehwere in your car so others could see if they really really needed it? But again, If they can drive a manual transmission car, they shouldn't need the pattern listed.
