What are the names of the different parts of a microphone?
There's the part that you hook over your ear and tape to your cheek, then there's the part with the on/off switch and the batteries. What are their proper names, or do they even have specific names?
I am not aware of any microphone "that you hook over your ear and tape to your cheek".
The part with the on/off switch with the batteries for a wireless mic would be a "body pack". The body pack connects wirelessly wth the base station which is connected to the system that either records or send the audio out to a house PA or recording system.
The part that you hook over your ear *could* be the mic - that connects to the base station. These wireless mic are used by stage performers and people who need their voice amplified but they are really active. But taped to your cheek? Never seen it.
