Mixed Lows Stereo

I just watched the 'Classic Albums' Documentary DVD where they playback isolated instruments from Rio's mix and comment on them--and the instruments sound so full and present. Then I put on the CD afterwards for fun, and it sounded really thin and anemic--it's all sharp high-end, and precious little low-end at all. And no dynamics--it really sounds crummy compared to the mix on the DVD, even when the DVD is played back in stereo instead of 5.1. I got on the net to see if there's a better version, and apparently there's a LOT of different Rio CDs. So which sounds best--meaning sounds the fullest, with wide range, dynamics, less compression low-end? duran duran's greatest hits. i think it sounds great good luck!
